A taste of what to expect

Day 1 – Arrival in Paro, drive to Thimphu

Arrive in Paro and transfer to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu. Stop at Tamchog Lhakhang en route. Settle into your hotel and take a gentle stroll through the city. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 2 – Explore Thimphu

Visit Buddha Dordenma, the National Memorial Chorten, and Tashichho Dzong. Experience Bhutanese art and textiles at the folk heritage museum. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3 – Drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass

Take in panoramic views from Dochula Pass before descending into Punakha Valley. ​Explore Punakha Dzong and take a walk through rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang. Overnight in Punakha.

Day 4 – Slow Travel in Punakha

Optional morning rafting or a relaxed day exploring local life. Visit Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten with a short hike and enjoy the valley’s peaceful rhythm. Overnight in Punakha.

Day 5 – Journey to Phobijkha

Drive to Phobjikha, a broad glacial valley known for its natural beauty. Stop at Gangtey Monastery and take a nature walk on the Gangtey Trail.

Overnight in Phobjikha.

Day 6 – Explore to Phobijkha

Take it slow with a morning of walking, photography or birdwatching. This is your moment to disconnect and soak in the quiet of rural Bhutan.

Day 7 – Return to Paro

Drive back to Paro, passing through scenic mountain roads. In the evening, visit a local farmhouse for a traditional hot stone bath and home-cooked dinner.

Day 8 – Return to Paro

Hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, perched on a cliff 900m above the valley floor, a fitting end to your journey. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
