Tourists are also required to pay the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of $100 USD per person per night.
Please note: We have already included this fee in our itinerary packages.

2. Flying into Bhutan
Bhutan, being a small and landlocked country, has limited access for international flights, making the journey into the Kingdom all the more special.
The country is served by the only international airport, Paro International Airport (PBH), which is nestled in a deep valley surrounded by towering mountains, offering one of the most scenic landings in the world.
To visit Bhutan, you must fly through a select group of airlines that have been authorised to operate into Bhutan. Only two airlines fly here:
-
Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines)
-
Tashi Air (Bhutan Airlines)
Flights operate from select cities like Dubai, Delhi, Bangkok, Kathmandu, and Singapore. The direct flight from Dubai to Paro takes around 4 hours and 30 minutes. The approach into Paro is famously scenic, flying between Himalayan peaks before a dramatic landing.
Due to its location and limited airspace, Paro airport only accommodates small aircraft, and flights are often subject to weather conditions. The runway is also one of the shortest in the world, which adds an element of excitement to the journey!

3. When to Visit
Bhutan is beautiful year-round, but the best times are:
-
Spring (Mar–May): Blooming rhododendrons and festivals
-
Autumn (Sep–Nov): Clear skies, perfect for trekking
-
Winter (Dec–Feb): Crisp air, fewer tourists
-
Summer (Jun–Aug): Lush greenery, but expect rain

Modest clothing for temples

Comfortable walking shoes
