A taste of what to expect

Day 1 – Arrival in Paro, drive to Haa Valley

Land in Paro and head straight over Chele La Pass, one of Bhutan’s highest roads, into the peaceful Haa Valley. Stop to take in views of the Himalayan peaks before descending into the valley. Settle into a quiet lodge and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 2 – Explore Haa
Walk through Haa’s pine forests and traditional villages. Visit the twin temples of Lhakhang Karpo and Lhakhang Nagpo, and enjoy a home-cooked lunch with a local family.

Day 3 – Drive to Phobjikha via Dochula Pass
Travel east via Dochula Pass, stopping to admire the 108 chortens. Arrive in the glacial Phobjikha Valley, home to black-necked cranes in winter and the serene Gangtey Monastery.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Day 4 – Life in the Valley

Spend the day walking the nature trails around Phobjikha. Visit a local school or farmhouse, and take time to enjoy the stillness and wide open landscapes.

Day 5 – Return to Paro

Head back west toward Paro, with stops at scenic points and small villages. Arrive in time for a quiet evening, in time for a visit to Paro Dzong or a traditional hot stone bath.
 

Day 6 – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Take on the iconic hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, perched on a cliff 900 metres above the valley floor. It’s a steady climb with rewarding views.

Day 7 – Departure

Private transfer to Paro Airport for your flight home.
